Glamping
Glamping at any time of year is great fun, and it’s a brilliant way to relax and unwind. However, Spring holds a special place in my heart because it’s not like the other seasons.

A bell tent is a must-have for glamping, and the cream-coloured canvas of your tent contrasts beautifully with all the colours around you. The green of the grass, the pinks and yellows of blossom and flowers, the blue of the sky. Somehow, the colours seem all the more vivid in Spring, and the lines of your tent seen against the curves and colours of nature will set your senses tingling.

Spring is the time of year when you notice that the weather is starting to get warmer. Spending time under canvas is always enjoyable, but it can be less fun when you’re cold – and that’s why a stove is a useful addition to your tent, as well as some comfy pillows and bedding.

When Spring comes around, you become less dependent on using the stove to provide heat, making your stove a nice addition rather than an absolute necessity. Of course, it’s hard to ignore wood-burning stoves at any part of the year because they just add to the sense of cosiness, and they also provide a great opportunity to use your teapot. What would camping be without a nice cuppa?

Even though it’s starting to warm up, there can still be plenty of breezes and rain showers. In Autumn and Winter, this can be a dealbreaker, as the overall dampness of the seasons can be off-putting. The weather in Spring is much milder and the feeling of constant damp is lifted. The showers can be rather refreshing, and the sun often comes out soon after. And who doesn’t enjoy a bit of rainbow spotting from your cosy bell tent?

Glamping in Spring brings a few other benefits too. There are fewer insects around earlier in the year, so one of the biggest issues you might face with camping is minimized. No bug bites will certainly be a bonus! Campsites also tend to be less busy at this time of year, giving you even more chance to relax in peace.

Imagine lying back on your air bed, thoughts drifting, peace and quiet all around. There’s the sound of a gentle breeze in the trees and the twitter of birdsong…of course, if that’s too quiet for you, you can still have fun with some of your electronic devices. Power packs can provide standard power sockets and USB ports for charging – nothing is stopping you from using a projector, a portable fridge, laptop, or hair straighteners while on your glamping expedition.

When you go glamping earlier in the year, you give yourself the chance to repeat the experience later on. If you find you really enjoy yourself, you can choose to do it again in Summer, or any other season if you’re prepared for the weather. Make the most of the nature that surrounds us and take a regular trip to your new favourite location.
